Whitley Bay High School
Deneholm,
Whitley Bay.
Tyne and Wear.
NE25 9AS
At Whitley Bay High School we are committed to promoting safer and healthier journeys to school, for students, staff and visitors. We work closely with North Tyneside’s Go Smarter programme to encourage everyone to consider active or sustainable travel when coming to WBHS, wherever possible. We hope that by doing this we can encourage the benefits that active travel provides including physical and mental health, and a reduction in air pollution near to the school site.
Further information about how Whitley Bay High School can be reached using active travel is listed below.
Public Transport
We are located approximately a 10 minute walk from 2 Metro stations – Monkseaton and West Monkseaton – and within easy reach of several local bus services.

Walking & Cycling
We are also located within easy reach of North Tyneside’s excellent ‘Waggonway’ network. Originally built to transport coal from local collieries to the River Tyne, they now provide nearly 30 miles of traffic-free walking and cycling routes.
Onsite we have plenty of bike parking facilities for staff, students and visitors to use with their own bike locks.
